Evolution Hospitality is in the midst if its second summer operating the iconic attraction/hotel the Queen Mary, and now has lots of shiny new old stuff to impress visitors.
One of Evolution’s charges when it won the contract to manage the ship and surrounding 55 acres was to get on the stick with a restoration plan promised to the city by the current leaseholders, Garrison Investments. The first operator after the ship emerged from bankruptcy, HostMark, struggled with restoration to the point where City Auditor Laura Doud chastised Garrison in a June 2009 for not keeping up with the schedule of capital improvements it had agreed to when taking over the lease.
