Join us for a relaxed and sociable afternoon at the Catalina Island Museum.

The Catalina Island Museum and the Art Deco Society of Los Angeles are hosting a reception for Art Deco enthusiasts, and friends and supporters of the museum on Sunday, May 20th from 1 to 3 PM.

There will be a no-host bar for soft drinks, wine, beer and mimosas; an appetizer buffet (included in the price), recorded Jazz Age music and, at 2 PM, a half-hour presentation by Walter Nelson of the Art Deco Society, who will tell the story, using archival film and photographs, of what it would be like to come out to the island in the 1930s to dance at the Casino.

While you're there, be sure to tour the museum's collection of historical and artistic treasures ranging from native American artifacts, to the Chicago Cubs to Hollywood stars coming to Catalina to get away from it all. Featured exhibitions will cover Houdini and the making of the movie "Jaws".

You are encouraged (but not required) to come in your finest Jazz Age resort wear,

The cover charge for the reception includes the museum admission price, which is normally $17.

Price for members of ADSLA or the Museum: $20
Price for non-members: $25
