The ADSLA Preservation Committee is committed to identifying Art Deco and streamline moderne buildings for evaluation and consideration for Historic Cultural Monument designation. Our goal in 2010 is to prepare and submit nomination documents for HCM designation for at least three (3) buildings. We have begun the process of identifying candidates for nomination. The draft proposal for the Historic Preservation Ordinance for the city of Los Angeles (worked on in part by the ADSLA) was sent to the City Attorney’s office after the Planning Commission’s 7-1 vote in favor of the adoption. It is the understanding of the ADSLA that the ordinance will be passed on to the City Council for the final vote as early as March 2010.
