WE WELCOME VOLUNTEERS TO ALL OUR COMMITTEES
ADSLA is an all volunteer organization. Through our Board and committees' teamwork, funds have been raised and donated to preserve Frank Lloyd Wright's Ennis House, the Egyptian Theatre, and the Queen Mary, among others. Unfortunately, there are always structures in need of help, so we need yours! Volunteering is an excellent way to learn something new, meet people, gain new experiences and, of course, have fun. PRESERVATION COMMITTEE
Our Preservation Committee is actively involved in reclaiming history by researching and documenting Los Angeles' architectural treasures. They nominate properties for local landmark designation and designate historic structures eligible for our annual Bricks and Mortar Grants.
MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE
Our dedicated Membership Committee reaches out to our members both old and new. They provide us with aa strong voice by engaging new members in all of our endeavors and interacting with other organizations with similar goals.
EVENTS COMMITTEE
No one throws a party like the ADSLA and we always need people to plan them. Create opportunities for our members to mingle with Deco enthusiasts at our popular monthly Cocktails in Historic Places™, dance in historic ballrooms like the beautiful Avalon Casino, or visit places like the elegant Oviatt penthouse. Put on a vintage fashion show at Bullock's Wilshire, or help with our signature event, the annual Queen Mary Art Deco Festival. Our events are dsigned to showcase the art and architecture of the period, raise money towards their preservation, and introduce our members to new friends with similar interests.
PUBLIC RELATIONS/MEDIA
The Public Relations/Media Committee raises the profile of the ADSLA and its events through the placement of articles in local magazines, newspapers and other media outlets. They are responsible for spreading the word about our events and goals.
